oh well, I thought reducing my propranolol was working. however after a couple of weeks of feeling great, with no headaches and therefore no other medication, my headaches are back to normal :-(

Back to the Gp for me :-(

I have read so much conflicting information about how to wean off this drug. does anyone have any advice? I am taking a plastic capsule type tablet so I can't cut it in half to reduce the dose

do i take one tablet on alternate days for a little while, then just increase the space between doses until I stop taking it?

over what period of time can I do this? I dont really want to have to buy any more prescriptions - i have 28 tablets left..... can I wean off in 28 tablets time?

thanks

**UPDATE** I saw my GP this morning and he has given me 40mg to take for up to a month, then stop altogether.

He offered me a different beta blocker but I am going to stay off medication for a while and see how things feel.

Hi, I did the same and now I am back on them again.

I'm the same. When all feels slightly better I reduce my 120mg down to 80mg over 6 weeks and then stress / night sweats intervene and then I'm back on the full amount again. It's so annoying when it takes so long to reduce the amount.
