I get headaches way to often. I always take advil, but it ends up coming back eventually. I dont know what to do, i want to stop taking medicine and find a natural remidy for this, i also dont exercise at all (Because im skinny) and i also eat really junky foods and have reg. coca cola around 2-3 times per week. anything i should do?
Lots of headaches: I get headaches way... - National Migraine...
Lots of headaches
me to. I've been getting headaches for the past few months almost every day. Cant control it anymore, i don't know what im doing wrong. ):
For starters Coca Cola contains a lot of caffeine and too much caffeine can cause headaches plus it's not the healthiest drink around
Try a magnesium powder it's a vitamin and is great for headaches and any sort of nerve related pain the powder form is the best as the body absorbs it much better
Also maybe see your doctor and ask for some blood tests and see if you are low in any vitamins etc
Good natural remedies for headaches are essential oils such as lavender, peppermint and eucalyptus oil which can be applied to the temples and/or burned in an oil burner be careful not to get it in your eyes it isn't the best experience
Ice pack on the forehead and back of the neck can also be used or try using a heat pack whichever is effective for you whether it be hot or cold
A hot bath can help increase circulation and also help relax your body try adding some magnesium salts such as Epsom salts to the water to help further relax the muscles etc
othet alternatives are laying down in a dark room and relaxation techniques such as massaging the neck which may ease the headache
Aspirin is a better option instead of ibuprofen as it is absorbed much better and too much ibuprofen can cause an upset stomach
If your headaches persist it's best to see your doctor to get checked out
Hope this helps

Nick_t22 Are you getting these headaches recently?
I am not sure exercise is only meant for non-skinny people See if you can run or jog for20min 2/3 times a week to start with. This will do lots of good to your body.
Also please try to avoid fried and oily food. You have to stop coca cola or similar drinks.
** important: You have to try getting into bed (sleep) no later than 11pm and please sleep 7 or 8 hours but no more.
You may also need to stop eating red meat (if you are eating). Please avoid alcohol if possible.
Remedy: Please try the following:
1) Riboflavin (vitamin B2) 400mg daily : If GP does not write prescription, it can be obtained from HollandandBarrett, they have 100mg tablets, so take 4 of them at a time. But a slightly cheaper option would be to buy from Amazon (Bio-Tech) . Please remember, the daily dose has to be 400mg, no less. You may notice improvement in about 5 to 6 weeks but please continue for at least 3 months.
2) Homeopathic remedy : Sepia 200CH - You can purchase from Helios / Ainsworth / Nelsons etc via post. No prescription required and would cost less than £10 including postage and that 5ml should cover for entire year if not more. Please buy the liquid (5ml) oral form and take 2 drops (in a tablespoon of mineral water) every Sunday morning (30m before eating food). It will take 2 months before you notice any benefit. Please brush your teeth 30m after taking this medicine.

I suspect some element of your diet is the main initiator but you might want to check the side effects of Advil (a quick Google showed headaches) in which case they may be exacerbating the problem. You'll need to wean yourself off them. Here in Britain we have a product called '4head' (not unlike a large chapstick/lypsyl) which is applied to the temples and forehead and can be very effective; my migraines are caused by perfumes so I apply '4head' under my nose as the natural oils (eg eucalyptus) in it act as a blocker
Anyone that suffers from bad headaches and I mean bad will tell you putting a couple of drops of oil on your temples is a waste of time,be carefull taking advice on vitamins and minerals as they can intefere with the absorbsion of others, also magnesium is a mineral as opposed to a vitamin.Messing with vitamins and minerals could make things worse.
I do like the fact that you pointed out that mag. Is a mineral, not a vitamin. I really don't know the difference re how they work, but it's a start to know what category each belongs in.
It's been my experience, after nearly a a lifetime (many decades!) of dealing with migraines and sometimes tension headaches, that treatment is a very individual thing.
With me, sometimes a remed that had helped for years stopped working! That's a shock when it happens the first time, but after many, many years I've learned that though they feel the same (hurt like he**!), each headache can be a bit different.
There was a Chinese commercial product that that helped me for many years. Tiger Oil. Formulated to relieve pain. Smell is kind of comforting, and you just rub it on yourtemples, forehead, etc.
I found acupuncture really helpful, chiropractic somewhat helpful, diet adjustment is really important. Having antthing containing caffeine will do you in after a while. Even a few dats of going without will cause a rebound headache, which to me was a bit worse than my regular ones. Ugh!
I was prescribed strong painkillers, and ,none of them worked! That was weird, both to me and my doctors.
Finally, an osteopath said that his mom-in-law had migraines ,and was prescribed a new (this was a long time ago) medication that had helped her. Osteopaths can prescribe, so I was able to try this new, very expensive, only available in brand-name, much. milder pain medication. It did help -- at last!
All I really wanted was a little ease of my pain, and that helped. Acupuncture was so very helpful, as well.
Sorry for going on for so long. Actually, this is the short version! Best of luck to you and all our friends and fellowq sufferers on this site. Don't give up, as I'm sure you've been told about lots of things. Something will help you perhaps the second or third time you try it.
P. S. there are cerain things you should never hve in your diet. Anything fermented, like some dlicious Asian foods (miso, pickles, etc.), regular pickles, cheese like cheddar and others
Hearbreakingly, I discovered I simply cannot have even the smallest amount of chocolate! Oh, desr! Don't eat a diet high in salt, even "good" kinds of salt. You already get plenty of salt from food you eat. Any food with an animal source has all the salt we need. Even dairy. Some vegetables have a surpisingly high salt content, but eat all veggies anyway. Better a potato than the chips!
Again, good luck. Enjoy your food and your life. Drink plenty of water, btw!
I really feel for you,it is only since my gp said o would have to come off zolmitriptan 2.5 mg that I feel I'm obsessed with them I feel if I think about migraine I can bring them on ,I have a very short fuse and just fell out with my granddaughter I feel terrible,I see my gp on Mon and I don't know where to go with this, I also have pain in my back got injections for that on 23 dec and it's not working, I feel I have no life at all as I can't walk my dogs now and I miss walking I just feel at the end of my wits sorry for the moan but I know there are lots of you will feel the same good luck all
