I use them for sleep and also pain relief, not specifically thought for migraine! MaryF

thanks Mary... i was just looking for "soothing music for migraine" and these came up ....there were some studies many years ago but nothing conclusive.

I bought a CD of binaural music to help relieve migraines some years ago. It didn't help at all, but maybe this is because a) I had to wear headphones and they always make my head feel compressed and b) one of my migraine effects is phonophobia and the constant swooshing noise of waves had the effect of increasing my feelings of nausea. I suppose it might help to drown out the constant chatter I get inside my head when it's really bad, but I find that mentally singing a simple nursery rhyme works better for me. Until I fall asleep which, along with the passage of time, are the only things that have ever worked in my 43 years of being a migraineur.

Interesting! To an aging musician with multiple health issues besides Migraine (Arthritis, Overweight, High BP and, since my hip replacement, getting infections which I once could throw off heedlessly - oh, and I'm getting old!), this is interesting, yes, indeed. I'm not sure what isochronic music is but I absolutely cannot STAND "music" that's completely synthesized - and I have a really good ear! I can always tell! I wonder if you have a good ear as well, and your auditory cortex is triggering your Migraines because it can't respond efficiently (?). Just a thought; when I go for my BP checks, the well-meaning nurse tries to help me settle down by playing "music" and it has the opposite effect.

not nice, Pattipan. I was hoping mine would improve post menopause but am now on HRT for sleep defeating Night Sweats !! Triptans work but only after 3 days of debilitating sick headaches before the migraine hits :(

always on the lookout for a new avenue to try .....thanks for the input xx

I just stumbled upon this today on YouTube out of desperation when both imitrex and excedrin migraine failed me and it actually worked for me: youtu.be/NOyliKzFsZ8 I will now listen to this every time my head even tingles in the future.

Oh, so that's isochronic music. The technology is going over my aching head but I'm curious (not curious enough to try it, due to being a musician - if there are beats of any kind, my left brain will stay alert, thus contributing to Migraines with sleep deprivation.
