Hi - I used to have them for cluster headache. Some worked miracles some didn't. I now have PENS therapy which is better and no side effects. Good luck!

What is "pens."? Thanks

It's electrical nerve stimulation. You get a current under the skin at the back of the head and the nerves are stimulated.

Hi. I hope malta44 has a legal team in place!

I had GONI both sides in feb 2013. Just local anaesthetic used in my hospital. I was told steroids made no improvement! Apart from numb head for 12 hours no effect either good or bad tho I think the back of my head hurts more now when I do get a headache. However the man in the cubicle opposite me who had his before me, passed out, which was scary!

After months of waiting I had Botox in jan this year (2014) and it has transformed my life. Down from average 20 bad headaches a month to 3 or 4.

Good luck.

Hi there!

I had my 3rd lot of GONI's 1 month ago... !st round were amazing almost immediately, 2nd were ok after about 2 weeks and the 3rd are not so good. Had a VERY bad week last week with a 4 day migraine with eventually resorting to Morphine as all other drugs weren't working. Also take 50mg Nortriptyline daily as a prophylaxis! Will probably continue with the nerve jabs as am desperate but now waiting for BOTOX...

Good luck

I have had three...i am sorry to say, it didn't help me much....but everyone is different so it is definitely worth a try. The procedure isn't too painful. Only takes about ten minutes...they did mine at out patient surgery....at hospital....good luck. Some ppl get good results.....
