Been taking 75mg diclofenac every night for years. Has anybody had experience of rebound headaches with this?

I have in the past had this.. until I got to the bottom of my migraines..I now no longer take it. I think rebound headaches with medication are quite common, and it does depend also on your diagnosis. Mine was Hughes Syndrome! MaryF x

I would think it's quite likely. Speak to your doctor about help getting off them.

Yes, I have a terrible tension headache everyday. How can I stop taking tablets?

Any painkiller can be overused and cause rebound headaches see our factsheet here: gallery.mailchimp.com/f83d9... basically 15 or more doses per month (10 for triptans) can cause 'medication overuse' however low dose diclofenac is used as a regular preventative with no ill effects. We have spoken before Neil, so I think it sounds like NMC or your local migraine clinic is the answer!

Hi Rebecca. Thanks for your reply. What amount is low dose diclofenac? Also I've read the fact sheet and it seems to be suggesting that taking diclofenac PRN causes MOH. I take my dose every evening and have done for years as a preventative. Could this still be causing my worsening headache?

I did contact NMC but getting down to London at the moment would be difficult. I insisted by GP refer me to Migraine Clinic and he reluctantly did.
