The other day i had a migraine at work that was so bad I threw up 3 times. I am on so many different meds and nothing helps. I am getting really discouraged and want to give up. What do people do when the pain gets so bad you can’t even look straight?

Hi kitty, have you tired getting advise from homeopath. I’ve had migraines for 10 years and after taking homepathic remedies it’s stop finger crossed. Call me to discuss if you want on 07795420786. Thanks

I'm sorry you are suffering. Do you know why you are having the migraines? Is it a food trigger, a hormone trigger, a weather trigger? Maybe its the light at your workplace (just me, its a real reason). Are you tracking what you eat and drink; when you get up in the am; how many hours sleep you are getting? These are all important items. Have you seen a migraine specialist - not every doctor knows how to treat migraines. And yes, some of the meds you are on could be aggravating your condition. Are you in the Uk, US or Canada? Have you heard about the new migraine drug - see this article - novartis.ca/en/news/media-r.... The evidence is that the drug really works well. Don't give up - start with tracking food, sleep, weather etc to try and determine what is the trigger. Not to upset you - but have you been checked to see if it is something else, other than migraines? Hang in there

Hi lactosebitb I am almost positive that stress in the main contributed. I have just recently started a New program and I have found that it is the same time my migraines have started. It could be food also, and medication overuse. I am suppose to see a specialist in August so until than I don’t really know what to do or what’s the cause for sure. The pain gets so bad sometimes I have to wonder if it is something more serious causing the headaches.

You should push for answers with your family doctor if you think its more than migraines. And be sure to see a neurologist - preferably a migraine expert. And try tracking things. For stress, learn to meditate or deep breathe - even for 5 minutes a day - it does help. I was a skeptic but deep breathing helps with reducing stress. try it. good luck

So sorry, not fun while at work. A few things to think about. Have you seen a headache Specialist? This can be a Neurologist, but their sole focus is getting you better and have less migraines.

Also, I know it will be hard but start keeping a journal about your headaches. I use and love Migraine Buddy, its a free App that really has it dialed in each day I chart what is going on. I must do this so I can get Amigen (sp?) new migraine injections.

Also, please go on worldmigrainesummitt.com and watch the videos that are about you. This has really changed my life!! I have stopped all over the counter drugs ( I had tension headaches and taking to much medication caused Chronic migraines).

I also changed the type of magnesium I take and it has really helped a lot. I also take Feverfew 3x a day ( I took it 2x and didn’t work) and this has really helped.

If you are taking medications and still getting headaches the medication is not working... you need advice from a skilled Specialist.

Good luck!

I used to throw up every time with a migraine until I woke near the toilet. I thought I was on my own but it’s pretty common for migraine sufferers. I get stress triggered migraines. Generally when I de stress. Good tip on the food. For years I have skipped meals. I eat often now and I am on preventative meds. Everything is much better migraines are aura only. Start with your doctor.
