Almost a year, circumcision and BXO

Hi guys,

I’m almost a year post op and have had a pretty good run with getting rid of the BXO. Some slight white is left but nothing like it was. All the normal things you do are doable and soo much better! Apart from a bit of an issue with the stitches and gauze sticking, I was happy with everything. Even had a bit of extra skin that resolved itself after several month's. I hope those that are starting their journey or are about to have just as much good luck (if you follow the rules it’s highly likely). Feel free to hit me up with questions :-).

Hey - glad you are all good, I am just about to finish a weeks course of antibiotics due to suspected infection in my stitches - it’s improved abit since a week ago but I still have the 1cm break open in the stitchline which still weeps the yellowish/clear fluid even after a full antibiotics course! Hoping it seals up? I have post op review next week with surgeon anyway! I had mine done 15 days ago!

I’m glad you have a follow up booked and you’re on the right medication. I had a bit of yellowish fluid so I suspect that’s normal. I started doing salt dips (in a cup) as I had gauze stuck in the stitches that started to be a bit gross. In the end, I removed the stitches with some nail clippers and was a lot more comfortable, it was about 6 weeks post op, they were not absorbing at all. Early days for you man, wishing you the best of luck! And I promise it gets way better :-)

Hi Man it's great to hear a positive outcome especially with the BXO which can be a difficult condition to deal with. Hopefully it will continue to improve. When everything goes well having a circumcision it's that bad really your body adapt to the changes in time.Good to hear positive feedback so many guys worry about having problems with there junk and having it sorted out. 👍🏼

Hello! This is a touch late but ... I am wondering what kind of surgery you had? Just a circ or something else?

Thanks!

Was a circ and widening of the urethra as the BXO had started to tighten that up a bit.

Interesting. Those two are the exact same procs that I had. Meatotomy, I believe it was called. It worked as I was having trouble taking a leak.

However I did have some BXO come up outside the meatus on the glans. It is quiescent with the help of Clobetasol. However it does act up from time to time. I see my urologist next month and plan on asking him if I can skip the Clob route and have surgery if its not something major.

Hi there, I'm due a circumcision, but have a 3 month wait. I'm having it due to having phimosis all my life and scar tissue developing on my foreskin and a little on the tip of my glans. I am also having some dilation as my opening has become narrow. Can I just ask did the widening of the urethra help and have you been ok since.

Hey, it sure did! Can pee straight now :-). That part of the procedure worried me leading into it but it was not as bad as my mind was making it. It’s awesome that you’re getting it done to fix those issues! You’ll be so happy with the new tool once it heals up.

Yeah I think I'm feeling like you did. Not too worried about the circumcision, I'm more concerned about the dilation, and if it will work. Can I just ask you, I'm concerned what my glans will look like after 42 years of having phimosis, I don't know what to expect, did your glans return to normal colour eventually.

Yea they did, it took a year or so to come right but was a steady change that happed over that time. I’ve not had any flare ups either which used to happen a lot before the procedure.
