Hi when I was 17 I got VM and they had problems with the lumbar puncture they used 4 different lengths of needles and were not able to get in. I was put in some type of x-ray thing so they could see inside. It worked right away. The pain I had was in my head my neck and my spine. I felt like I was dying. After 3 weeks in hospital I was able to get out of bed on my own but bright lights hurt me badly. I continued to suffer everyday of my life with a headache some days worse than others and some days I've had to go get pain shots and something for the nausea sometimes these bad ones can last up to 3 to 4 days long where I can't bear any lights any noise or any type of movement after many years of suffering I decided to go see a neurologist I was tested for every type of headache you can think of I was told they couldn't figure out what was wrong with me they started giving me all kinds of different medicines to treat migraines and whatever even though they said I didn't have migraines I went to a different neurologist and he said that I suffer from all of the headaches migraines stress headaches allergy headaches sinus headaches caffeine headaches closer headaches and he still couldn't figure out why the very worst one that I have every single day that has been with me since the day I got meningitis he couldn't figure out why that one is still there I joined this group years ago searching for answers every time I've had to go to my local emergency room for a pain shot there would be this nurse there who said when she was a teenager she had viral meningitis as well and that she was barely in her 40s and the headaches just then started to lessen I don't know what else to do the headaches never go away they've become every day part of my life but now as I get older in my lower back where they did the lumbar puncture using several different needles and links hurts badly sometimes it feels like my vertebrates are falling out of socket I guess if that's what how I could explain it how it feels I would like to know if there's any other people that have had meningitis 20 years ago even 10 or 15 years ago still suffer the way I suffer
