Hello all,
I was diagnosed with viral meningitis last November. This came with the worst migraines I have ever experienced for about a week and vision loss in the right eye the second day of migraines. I was sent to the ER and they did MRIs and CT scans for a brain tumor, MS, and aneurysms. All of that came back negative so they sent me home but set up appointments the next day to see an ophthalmologist. When I was seen by her, she sent me right back down to the ER as my right optic nerve was swollen 400x and the right was swollen 200x. They did a spinal tap and my white blood cells were elevated so they diagnosed me with Viral Meningitis. Due to the immense swelling, my optic nerve is damaged enough to cause permanent vision loss in the right eye and was close to doing significant damage in the right eye. I had so much CSF that it strangled my optic nerve. Meningitis is dangerous and always be cautious of sudden migraines and vision loss!
