Spinal Bacterial : I am 42 and Jan 8 this... - Meningitis Now
Spinal Bacterial
I also had Bacterial Meningitis (at age 33) and also had excruciating foot pain...but always in BOTH feet at the same time. Never had any numbness...only foot pain 24/7. Each year the pain dissipated a little. After 10 years, I was finally able to tolerate the pain of wearing a closed toe shoe...without feeling constant extreme pain.
Now, 39 years later, when the extreme sharp pain strikes, it's always only ONE foot...(but always EITHER foot)....and never lasts more than 30 minutes. Over the years I've learned to ignore the 24/7 "normal foot pain." I remind myself that I'm lucky to still have my feet!
Time...that's the recovery treatment. Each year you'll feel better...MUCH better! The only actual medicine I've ever taken for my after effects is aspirin...for headaches. (In the U.S., I've found that Excedrin Extra-Strength (over-the-counter) works best.)
