Thank you everyone for your replies as much as I'm dreading it it does seem the safest way but the thought is daunting thankfully my daughter has agreed to be one of the deputys and luckily she works for a law firm so I think she will do the spreadsheet I forget things as it is now so having to do that has worried me I have been looking after his direct payment and that is enough without this and obviously it depends on how long it all takes to go through too it's also hard to relinquish that care you've given since birth but losing my brother in law so suddenly this year made me realise we are old, 🙄soo will see what's said this afternoon I will keep in touch and thank you all again

You should look into if his needs can be met by health funding instead of social services.. Health funding he won't have to pay for care costs out his PIP. Same as if he's been sectioned in the past, he will get 117 aftercare which means no care costs as well. Which is what I'm entilitied too.
