Hi,

My brother has Down’s syndrome and lives with our elderly mum and needs help. I can only have him to sleep over at mine when my daughter sleeps out, so I’m looking at a extension for him to have his own space/bedroom but don’t know where to start with applying and costs of this. If anyone can help me out it would be much appreciated.

Cheers

Do you mean an extension to your home or your mothers home?

Extension to my home so he can stay more often. He will be living with us when anything happens to mum

I think maybe it is something you need to discuss with your social worker.

Im not sure what help you would be entitled to if he is not presently living with you full time.
