Hi all, You no doubt have heard about the possible changes the government is proposing with PIP.

They are doing a consultation for people to respond to about their green paper PIP reforms, you have until 22 July to reply. The more people who tell them exactly what they think of it the better, it's shocking 😲

I've included a link below which has more information -

We have been looking at these proposals, as you say they are shocking for anyone who receives PIP. It would be a very major shake up which clearly aims to dramatically cut spending on PIP, or even to remove it altogether except for the most extreme circumstances. The plans to move people from ESA to UC, removing the disability allowance, seems to be part of the same set of proposals. If all this were to happen, people with disabilities or lifelong conditions who cannot take advantage of the same opportunities in life as others would be left with very little to live on. We are certainly going to be submitting our views to the consultation. People could also contact their MP and other election candidates to ask where they stand on this change of direction.

I don’t know if Mencap will be submitting anything, I certainly would hope so. This is an opportunity to make it clear that there would be opposition.
