My daughter is 32 years old and has epilepsy and learning disabilities. She absolutely loves dogs and horses. I was wondering if there was a switch at birth as I find both difficult!

The Zoom sessions started in lockdown. Helen’s epilepsy starts when she’s bored which puts a huge onus on us to keep her fully entertained at all times.

Our sessions are designed with her in mind. She likes to be entertained and meet people. She considers those on the Zoom calls to be her friends. Through the Zoom sessions she has grown in confidence hugely. As a 32 year old she is learning about the world in our Wish You Were Here? sessions (today we’re ‘visiting’ Dublin). We find out how long it takes to get there, what foods they eat, what language they speak and so on. She also loves finding our about different animals. Last time it was crustaceans.

We have Zoom sessions in Music, Dance, Tai Chi, Makaton - the list goes on!

You can have free trial sessions and then, if money is tight you just need to ask, and the free sessions can continue.

I really hope to hear from you.

Carol 😊

Thank you very much. The lovely people who come along to the Zooms come back time and time again - I’m struggling to get new people to join in the fun…..despite offering free Zoom links! I’m really hoping someone out there will take me up on the offer and give us a try! 😊

Ask here carers to take her to a local riding for disabled association , RDA center , its great she has an intrest, it will give her somthing to look forward to, give you a bit of time out and she might be able to brush a horse or ride and some do carriage rides if people can't rides ,also gives you a bargaining tool lol . Xxx

Thank you for your kind message. Helen horse rides twice a week and enjoys it so much! She’s just off dog walking right now with a carer! She loves to be busy and happily stimulated.

Thank you again, Carol x
