speak to Mencap helpline the carers association your local district council and your local community voluntary services. The local Autism society try those to start with
Have you looked at educational opportunities at your local college. If he has an EHCP he should qualify for free funding. All courses are aimed at employability and functional skills maths and english are part of all courses from foundation to level 3. Learning support is open to all students who need it. The college I work at hold regular open days and events throughout the year aimed at prospective students.
Hi thanks for the info. He did have ehcp but having dropped out of college just before lockdown and not looking for work (as we were in lockdown) local authority kept ringing asking what he was planning to do, we were in limbo so they finished plan!. Will look into local colleges and see what they can offer
Good luck hope find something. As he is under 25 the EHCP should still apply. We have students who come to us at say 18, drop out for various reasons, eg, mental health issues and return a couple of years later when sorted themselves out.
