NHS England have launched their consultation into how health and care services should be planned and delivered in your area. Have your say and make sure they involve people with a learning disability. Unfortunately, we only have until 30th May to respond to this important survey, so please fill in as soon as you can!
Reading some of the posts on this site, it seems that the Health and Social Care System is a maze of complexity, leaving people to struggle to help their loved ones navigate it. As if they don't have enough to do already...What is being done to simplify the process of obtaining adequate, reliable and safe care for people who need Health and Social Care? I have had struggles with my own son and am now caring for him at home for the majority of time, having six hours per day with help of a personal assistant provided by a care agency. This is not always adequate as they have difficulty finding workers to cover sick leave and annual leave. I am getting on in years and the fear of most carers in my situation is becoming sick or worse and leaving my son to the vagaries of a complicated system that sometimes appears as if it doesn't really care what happens to our loved ones.... The Health and Social Care crisis has been going on long enough, isn't it about time it is sorted out, perhaps by our new Labour Government??
