Social groups for adults with learning disabilities
We're very lucky to have an amazing club in my uncle's area that offers a variety of social activities for adults with learning disabilities. Unfortunately I think a lot of these places though aren't heavily advertised so tend to be found more by word of mouth. Have you tried enquiring with any care companies / social workers / local mencap group at all? Also it might be worth trying your local library just in case they've had a leaflet or similar. As well as groups specifically for individuals with learning disability you may find there are groups more generally aimed at retirees that might be suitable?
Wishing you the best of luck with your search!
Hi if you have a CARERS Centre in your area they might be able to advise you on clubs/ activities etc for adults with learning disabilities where you can possibly meet women with learning disabilities for companionship/friendship. Give them a ring or ask your carer to if you have one. Social Services Learning Disabilities Team should have a full list of all activities/clubs etc in your area.
