When to contact NHS 111

There is a new Easy Read about using NHS 11 if you are ill or hurt and need help fast, but it is not a 999 emergency.

assets.nhs.uk/nhsuk-cms/doc...

If you have an urgent but not life-threatening medical need, make sure you contact NHS 111 first rather than going straight to A&E (Accident and Emergency).

NHS 111 can:

> book you to be seen quickly and safely in A&E

> book an appointment at GP surgeries, pharmacies, emergency dental services and walk-in clinics

> help keep you safe by making sure you get the right care in the right place.

Remember, if you are very unwell or badly hurt you can still walk in to A&E or call 999.
