Update on my brother

When I went to my brothers flat yesterday he had got 26 cans of carlsberg larger and 10 bottles of bud light larger I can see the inevitable happen with my brother this is so not fare the way my brother and his family are being treated this is so bang out of order

I so need a court of protection to get him out of this situation before anything happens because the way it is going I will be going to court for my brothers death sorry to be so blunt but this is so on the cards if nothing gets done soon

I made an appointment yesterday to take Antony to go to see his doctor because I know full well my brother has not seen a doctor for many years me and my brother went in and she made us feel very uncomfortable she was saying why have you made appointment to come and see me like we were not supposed to be there I sed I need a full medical done on my brother she was saying why and not listening that my brother is not well she sed there is only 10 minutes of her time we could have I asked her to check his blood pressure she refused I asked her to check his chest she refused I asked her to check is ears she did they where full of wax she gave him some drops I asked her to check what assessment has been done for Antony she sed there had been assessment and they had been authorised that my brothers mental health was more less perfect all down to the social worker who had signed my brother has being fit and healthy not with these assessment I don't think they have taken place it seems to me they have gotten tick the box happy and ticked everything for my brother to take him off the books so they have not got to deal with my brother mental health in the right way. they have taken away my brothers family support net work and not allowed my brother to have the family support with him at any stage because they wanted to make up his mind for him and it seems to me they have taken advantage of my brothers mental health has they know he has not got mental capacity to speek for his self this is why no family members have been in involved in making any decisions for him they seem to have taken it on there selfs he has not got any family so they have made the decision for him this is not the right way to do this they have gone against my brother not having any family support by is side this is so cruel on there part now my brother is in this mess because of the decision the social worker have made and not letting the family know about any decisions that where being made for my brother because if the family where involved my brother would not be in this situation now I asked the doctor to have a conversation with my brother she asked me to leave the room I told her no she was asking my brother question and she could see he could not communicate and she could see he didn't understand what she was asking him I asked her to asked him to read some papers she refused and I asked her again and she put papers in front of him asked if he could read them my brother sed no I can't read the doctor asked my brother how he was feeling in his mind she asked if he was depressed my brother sed yes she asked him about his drinking achol asked how much he is drinking he sed a few cans I have my own mind I can do what I want she then asked if he would be perperd to cut the cans down you are drinking my brother sed no I have my own mind I can do what I want he doesn't understand that the achol is bad for him I asked the doctor to refer my brother for a full mental health assessment at first she refused and I asked her again she sed yes and I told her I want to be there when he has these assessment not the social worker so she can tick boxes for him again and pass it off he is mental fit sorry my brother is not I stood my ground for my brother with the doctor and I hope she can see now where I am coming from with my brother and get get everything in place to get my brother the right help that he needs but I am not getting my Hope's up as she was very reluctant it should be my brothers health that comes first surely the doctor has a duty of care for there patients haven't they she was saying that she could not do anything for my brother I sed to her you are his doctor you have got all the right to help my brother if she does not do anything for my brother she to would be neglecting my brothers health and wellbeing and she to would be neglecting his duty of care wouldn't she it seems to me this social worker has done all this unlawfully and broken all the rules and regulations of the mental health act she has to be stopped I am not sure if she has done this to anyone else and there families but it seems to me she wants to right people like my brother off so they can go and die and that will be another one that has saved money for the government this is so very wrong if this is what is happening here these authority have not got the rights to do this and should be pulled up about what is really going on I am not going to stop until my brother gets the help he is entitled to by law with his family right by his side it also seems to me the doctor was on the social worker's side and what the social worker were saying she seem to me she was believing her and she had not ever seen my brother at this time now when I taken him my self to see her she could see hopefully what I was talking about with my brother but still she seemed reluctant so will have to see if she puts things in to place for him not getting my Hope's up just yet

Hopefully you have started the ball rolling by seeing the doctor. The doctor has agreed to refer your brother for assessment so that is good news. As I don’t know your brother it’s difficult but I was suggesting him being referred to a psychologist for assessment due to his learning disabilities to be assessed on what he is capable of understanding. You seem to be talking about his mental health which I agree will be affected due to his learning disabilities but I would start with his learning disabilities. Again I’m only trying to advise but you know your brother better than anyone. Who is the dr referring him to a psychologist or psychiatrist? Chase the referral up in a couple of weeks to make sure it has gone ahead. Your brother should be having a health check on a yearly basis if he has learning disabilities plus a flu vaccine and he obviously hasn’t been to drs in a few years, very troubling. Best wishes.

You need to get legal advice as a matter of urgency!

Enquire about the Government Appointeeship that I mentioned before, and the Power of Attorney. As you told us that your mother has dementia, you are most likely the best one to apply on his behalf - if he has the capacity to consent to you having it.
