We all hear about autism has anyone heard of fetal alcohol syndrome. Thus disorder is just like autism only the pregnan mother drank whilst caruing their child.p Eople don't like to discuss this disorder but there are lots of people out there thata Re diagnosed with autism. And they have fasd but there doesn't seem to be much help out there for these guys. The mother is not always to blame for this. They have drank and didn't know they were pregnant or they have had a terreble addiction to alcohol.

Has anyone ever heard of this condition? They have anxieties and can not usually live independently. They have ocd disorders. And are usually prescribed anti depressants for mood disorders and ocd and anxieties. These guys are so chatty they can talk the talk but unfortunately they can't walk the walk. If you know what I mean. They dont look no different to any of us. And are so lovely by nature. How can we help these lovely people with their disorder. Lots of help out there for autistic people but not much help for fasd sufferers

Thank you for the link!! 😁

Hello,

Yes I have heard of this disorder. I think pregnant mums out there do need educating on this subject, as you rightly say mums to be aren't always aware the effects of one drink can have. There are a few things on youtube about it.

Treatment will differ from child to child, and in many circumstances you can learn things from Autism strategies. Good luck but keep an open mind because Autism strategies will sometimes work with children who have other additional needs.

I’m convinced my 5 yr old son has FASD. I should know, I was the alcoholic unable to stop drinking and was unaware of pregnancy for first 5 months. Sounds impossible to not know your pregnant but my pregnancies have always been easy for my body to carry. Today I am 4 years sober and seeking advice on how best to help my sweet loving son. He is the 5th of 6 children. The only pregnancy I was unaware of.
