the staff in care homes autism awareness training

if a person is aggressive there must be a reason for it

breakdown in communication people who live in a care

home should have a communication passport

They had a boy/man in residential home and he attacked staff members on different day but what had happened was his mother had cancelled on and he was on the phone, asking why. He did not understand why she was not visiting him. Apparently he broke the cup and some other things (like the window above the front door) But they did not give him chance to return, he was admitted to the mental hospital and they changed his residence place. Sad story, of my son's friend (my son has autism nonverbal) in the same residential place upto the point he got aggressive, that is. But boy/man was verbal and they could have easily reasoned with him - they had no training in autism or challenging behaviour!
