Worrying times

Hi. I'm sure we're all finding it very surreal at the moment. I wondered what tips people had for coping with being stuck at home all the time. I am trying to work at home, but home is very busy now!!! I've only been attempting this for a couple of days but the main thing I've learned is that it is ok to take time out to get out of house. I've taken up walking around in circles, with my kids in tow, trying to avoid everyone else. Any other ideas? Thanks

hello. Very difficult times I agree. I few ideas from my household although not many of them fit well with working from home:

Frog spawn. We went on a walk (a very slow walk) and found loads of it in a field near our house. We found an old tank in the shed and went to collect some. I am very impressed as quite a lot them have hatched already!! Thinking of attempting some sort of pond in the garden,

Cooking. not really my thing but even I have started to think about what we could make. Found these on Youtube - youtube.com/playlist?list=P... designed for people with a learning disbility. They are pretty good. If you can find any pasta of course.

TV - lots of tv i'm afraid. But it does help if you are trying to do a bit of work.

Friends and neighbours near us have set up a WhatsApp group to keep in touch and see if they can help. It is good to know other people still care, particularly when you are caring for someone. i hope this brings a bit of light relief.

Hello Freddy44

If you look on face book for corona virus support group you will find lots of people offering help and also asking for help. There are local groups possibly in everyone's area.

Someone near to me locally had suggested people putting teddy bears in a window so that children can count or see or just go on a "bear hunt" It is only a thought but there may be some more very inventive stuff on there,Good luck

Hi, we are having a good tidy of the garden( much needed) and getting fresh air too. We already have lots of garden games such as badminton, swingball and basket ball. We have a good supply of indoor games too. We play the Wii, do jigsaws , frustration, painting and crafts. At times it feels like going back to my own childhood when we made our own entertainment so remember how you used to entertain yourselves and be inventive for your own loved ones. If all fails there's still youtube, netflix etc. If you can grab some popcorn and have a film afternoon/night. Keep safe and keep positive.
