Recipes for a hopeless cook?

Hopefully it is ok for me to post about this.I am hopeless with cooking - particularly healthy cooking. I lack imagination and just eat the same meals again and again. Has anyone got any good recipes/ideas?

It needs to be something that I can cook quite quickly and without a million ingredients. My teenager is a fussy eater, so nothing too wild/spicy.

Hi. Currently we eat a huge amount of pasta as it is so easy to cook. I do like it, but it would be good to eat other things too. don't eat much red meat but happy with chicken and fish. I never really make puddings but I might be inspired. We eat more processed food that I would like simply because it is easy. Would be great to make more thinks from scratch, Thanks

Thank you for your reply

Can I ask where you live?

I eat Mediterranean food ,because I’m from that part,it’s healthy and easy to make.

I am from the Midlands so there is nothing very inspiring (or healthy) there.

Well healthy food does not need to be expensive .there are basic things such onion, potato’s,chopped tomato and garlic you have to have in your kitchen.with this you can make a vegetarian meal ,takes about 20 minutes.you can serve this dish with bread or reis.

Something we do is instead of buying pre made breaded chicken we buy flavoured breadcrumbs ( there's one with rosemary in from Morrison's) and then make them ourselves. Really simple. Just dip the chicken in olive oil then roll on the bread crumbs. There are fussy eaters in my house and they all like these. 😄🍗

I have finally learned to make a proper omlette which I love, but it isn't for everyone.

These have also gone down well but you need to be careful that they aren't too spicy bbcgoodfood.com/recipes/978...

In terms of learning to cook there are lots of video. This series are really good and aimed at people with an LD.

It would be good to get more ideas. I think you just need to decide you're going to do it. And make sure you look up recipes before you do the shopping.

Thanks for all your ideas. I am going to be more adventurous. I have been having a good look online and there is so much out there. Many recipes have 1000s of ingredients, but there are some more realistic ones out there. I am going to start with this one

Well, I am from the Caribbean and I can cook almost everything. I even plant my own vegs and fruits. I'm a nature person too. hugs Danx
