Hi
Thank you so much! Just took my sister to hospital Sunday night for pain and was admitted Monday morning. We have decided to not do the trial and will be looking at hospice care once they can find a way to control the pain for her.
She felt that creating more pain with travel and biopsies is just not what she wants to do. Her tumors are growing and now she has untreatable blood clots though she is a trooper and taking it with stride.
Her palliative team and doctors here are amazing and have really helped with these tough conversations for both of us
Again, thanks so much for doing the research. It is evidence that as caregivers we can’t do it alone and just how meaningful it is when someone takes the time to help.
Peace to you and your sister as you shift into hospice. I hope her pain becomes well managed. I’m glad your team has been facilitating clarification of your sister’s priorities.
This community remains with you in the journey
Thank you it is amazing how much I have come to appreciate the opportunity to have a place to speak and be heard by people who really understand. She looks like a new person today with pain controlled and the hospice team so far seems good.
We are on our next journey and I know that I will be reaching out again.
Thank you all
You are an amazingly strong person, and you are a wonderful sister. I am wishing strength, love, and peace to both of you as you go through what I can only imagine is an extremely difficult time. As others have mentioned, please know that this community will continue to be here in your time of need. This is a safe place for you so please share whenever you would like to. We are all here for you.
Thank you all for your support. I would like to find ways to help this cause and provide support and give back.
Unfortunately, My sister passed February 5th. Her doctor informed us January 8th that there wasn’t anymore we could do
I am so grateful for the time we had and the trip we took last year with friends and though this diagnosis is difficult please find those moments of joy with your loved one they mean so much
Funny I haven’t cried since Monday when I watched her take her last breath but here I am crying up a storm.
Again thank you for all of your support.
I am so sorry for your loss. I am new to this community but have already found it to be valuable. Thoughts and prayers for your family.
