AMAZING to see all the racers and reports over the last couple of weeks - well done all of you!!!
There's just one runner left, our David_G in the Croydon Half this weekend. Please make sure you all give it large for him on the Pom Pom post later in the week 😊😊😊
David, I hope you have a wonderful time!!!
Pic is of me and my security guard feeling very pleased to be almost at the finish of the Hastings Half Marathon 😜
Lots of love,
roseabi xx

Aye, I suppose sore feet are likely after all that running! 36,777 steps, says my Fitbit 😊
Thank you! Although all I can say is, it's amazing how much one can perk up at the sight of a finishing arch! You look like a superhero in your photo xxx
Haha. I have a selection of other official photos from the same event that don't so much shout 'superhero' as 'lumberingantihero'. As for my videos? Do I really look like that when I run? it's very peculiar and most unattractive (please don't go looking that up!) I may need some help ... could be next Christmas sorted for everyone
Yes linda9389 , I do an event that does finish line videos, as a back up to the timer.....they are not good! 🤦♀️ More lumbering heffalump than gazelle...... trouble is you can’t unsee it.....😱 - proper burst my bubble 😂
This event has the finish line video - where I swear I was pushing on, but just look to be lumbering along, plus another one earlier in the course - I look like I'm on tiptoes or something with a huge bouncy chest, very unpleasant! And you're absolutely right - I can't unsee it!
Are they stability jobs? I'm still trying to find the successor to my Kinvara 5's I have a pair of unworn Zealots which I'll have to break out of their box soon as most of my other shoes are worn out. Skint though. Sigh
Not tried those ones on. I like a 4 mm offset meself these days. I think Nike Frees are 8 mm. I thought they were Zero! The Altras are zero but they kill me with blisters. Bah! I dunno
I like 4mm too, but I also quite like the extra bounce in the heels of these Saucs. My favourites are still my Lidl ones from last year (although I think they're more like 12 mm drop), but the sole under the toes of one of them has almost worn through now! I got some more from Lidl, just last week actually, but they don't seem nearly as nice 😣
I went into Lidl for the shoes. Not a pair in sight. Bah!
I'm off on hols soon where running shoes are cheaper, and there is a running shop as I've already spotted it on Googlemap. Might just take a mosey along. It could be an 8 hour train ride though. Everything looks so close by on a map. I checked out a day trip only to find the train set off at 3.27 am for the all night trip to arrive by 8.30 am Cuh! It looked a quarter of an inch on the map. Barely a finger nail's width.
You look like you’re breezing it in that photo Abi! Well done. 😃❤️
I’m due to progress back to the dizzy heights of 2mins running intervals followed by 30secs walking intervals for 30 mins by the end of this week - so still no idea if I’ll get back to HMs for Chester...🙄
It's not showing off, it's a great picture. I'm just envious of photogenic people who take decent event photos. Mine are quite embarrassing with how bad they are. But I have a great "resting b!tch face" that definitely extends to my running face. I'll see the photographers and will be trying to figure out when I need to smile and then realize oops, too late. Missed it 🙄☹️😆
That's a lovely photo Abi! The photos of me are universally awful - particularly the ones of me sprinting for the line 😫 I'll have to factor "how to look good when running" into my training if I'm going to rock the whole Wonderwoman thing next year 🤣
There's a great one of my son from the mini run where he looks like he's flying through the air. But there's another one of him sprinting where's he's turned the same funny colour as me!
Thank you pt xxxxxx I don't really see a good photo (it's meant to be a 'happy to finish' photo!), but it's definitely one of the better ones, and I do have tips to share!
The one of your flying son sounds lovely - did you buy it? I am pretty sure I was that colour too, the hat is one of the tips 😊😊😊
Please do share the tips! We could do with a "how to look good when running" post 😁
Haven't bought the photo of my son yet as I have a feeling his Dad took a very similar one. I'll buy it if he hasn't. There's one of me where the definition in my shoulders and upper arms looks awesome so I might get that one even though my face looks awful! x
Oooh that's worth knowing. We could go down and see him. Well, I say "we" After my husband's long face at my last race, I might just be flying solo. LOL
Someone mentioned Seaford to me yesterday as a nice one. Just had a look at the link and the winning finish times are slow (comparatively obviously 😂). Do you know if it's because the course is tough? I'm not sure I could cope with tougher than Hastings!!
