Spring. The lighter mornings. The slightly warmer air temp. The birds....

I'm a Winter girl, cold, dark and dirty.

I love them all in different ways. The long evenings and the occasional appearance in short sleeves and capri length leggings in the Summer. The freshness and rapid changes of spring. The Autumn leaves underfoot (those might be less appealing on a pavement cf a woodland path) and a nip in the air. Snow and crunchy puddles in the Winter and views opening up through the bare trees.

That all sounds perfect....

Put Autumn I actually think the season I like the least is summer. I find that summer is rather hot and exhausting.

Me too- as an asthmatic I really struggle in the Summer ( hence my slightly scary preference for Winter)!!

Now I've experienced a full year of marathon training I've decided that each season has it's merits! Love the cooler weather in spring and autumn, but I also enjoy the heat and longer days in summer. Winter I found toughest, but I think it made me a fitter runner, so that was cool too.

Autumn! After the heat of summer, it's nice to feel a bit cooler, and of course all the colours...

I love them all, but especially spring. Ditching the winter gear feels liberating.

Late spring and summer. I can deal with moderate heat, and love being able to go on a long run in the evening without faffing with headlights and torches, and love the sights of the countryside bathed in glorious light.

The best thing that can be said about winter running is that it sets one up nicely to enjoy spring running rather than suffer through it.
