Start off on a hill - a killer on the calves

Start off on a downhill - a killer on the knees

I said Flat all the way baby

But if there had been an option for running up and down hills in the middle when you're nice and warmed up, I would have ticked that.

Can we have an option of uphill or flat only, please (downhill kills my knees). I like hills in races, because that's where I can catch up with the competition - living at the top of a hill means that I get lots of practice on them. Downhill, as I've said up post, kills my knees, but is also the point where everyone I've just overtaken going up comes streaming past me :(

In my opinion, all races should be flat or uphill only, and should always finish on a hill (I must admit that this gives organisers a problem for devising circular routes, though).

Get the uphill over with and go downhill when I'm starting to get tired

Like Adam I live at the top of a hill (when I'm here in France) I love starting my runs downhill, but guess what? It means I have to climb back up to get home...yesterday I ran all the way for the first time....I'm catching you up in elevation JuJu!

I saw your post about how you've done 3,000 MTs of elevation over 250KM - is that about right? I've done 1,000 MTs over 85 KM this month so a third as many KM and a third as many meters - the same ratio as you! Ok, you ran a bit further lol!

My legs hurt!
