Why do you like to race?
Please select one:
It allows me to prove to myself that I'm not quite as decrepit as everyone thinks I am. I get a buzz from finishing further up the field than others who are clearly far younger than me (and I quietly ignore my local rival, a near septuagenarian who thrashes me every time...)
I like all of those things pretty equally, but I think ultimately I like them as something to shoot for, aka a motivation.
I like the challenge of beating previous times but I really dont like crowds- runners and spectators so it puts me off. Give me a small trail run any day!!!
I wanted to vote for every option !
I just love the atmosphere and the buzz of race days, I just cant describe it properly to give it justice Its so amazing to be stood on the starting line waiting to set off , and crossing the finishing line is even better !
Its the sense of achievement and accomplishment of completing , Im not too bothered about my time although it is very rewarding to beat previous times xxx
As well as the personal challenge, I really enjoy the buzz of running with club members and the mutual support, regardless of positions or times.
I take part in events because it allows me to run in different places (mainly on trails) without having to worry about the route. And I do like to see whether I am improving, although that is difficult as so far no race/route has been the same or closely similar.
Oh and I love the bling and the goody bag and the tech T Shirt xxx
It's FUN 😊 Yeeeeeeeeeeeha!
