Hi is there anyone who could give me any advice , my dad is in the early stages of dementia, is still ongoing with investigations , my mum was referred to memory clinic back in June , both are 85 years old , living in own accommodation, I was the main carer / daughter doing all the necessary daily things to help my parents live independently, up until July mums oldest daughter as took complete control over there property , changing locks , removing care , careline , she as got my parents to change there wills & put herself as POA , my parents appointed me last August 19 , I registered these POA in July and have just recieved email from OPG to say my parents have full capacity , when I know as there daughter who seen them both every single day that this is not true . I’ve contacted social services regarding my concerns over my parents welfare , as they have both spent over a month under NHS care , passwords were put in place so I couldn’t find any information out regards to there welfare , the next thing I’ve received a letter from a solicitor to say I’ve been financially & emotionally abusing my Parents , I’ve been floored by these allegations , I’m blocked from contacting my parents , I’ve had the police called on me for a further three false allegations from my mums daughter , as anyone going or gone through a situation like this ? I feel I’m hitting a brick walk with every person I speak to regards safeguarding my parents from this psychological abuse by my mums daughter

You sound to be in a terrible situation here. You obviously need to talk to someone who knows about these matters or who can direct you to someone who can. I haven't been in your position but may I suggest Citizens Advice as a first step? You have come to a forum for those with Rheumatoid Arthritis so perhaps there are other forums better suited to your needs. Stay safe

Hi sultan60

This is not a forum purely for rheumatoid arthritis as gnarli suggested. However, I strongly recommend that this may be more a matter for a legal team rather than a forum. As allegations have been made and a second poa has been registered it is clearly beyond informal routes of support?
