I had a bad reaction in my last injection a month ago. I just started to get an injection in my right eye. (Had been getting monthly shots in my left eye for about 4 years..) After my last appointment, both eyes were tearing constantly, felt like something was in both eyes.....this lasted all the next day. My doctor thinks the reason for this might be that I have weak corneas. My eyelids were red. and it was difficult to drive at nighttime because of any lights from oncoming cars....didn't have that problem before this last injection, I could drive at night time. My eyesight was better before this last injection. Just wondering if anyone else has had a similar reaction.
I am new here.

I think my eye was more sore after my first few injections than it is now after injections so I wonder if it because this is new for that eye and it is reacting more to the iodine. Iodine is very important so it's worth putting up with this but is may not be so bad when your eye gets more used to it hope your next one is better
Hi peacejo45,
I agree with rosyg. If the irritation persists with next injs ask them to give extra rinsing or switch iodine for chlorhexidine.
Alternatively, the tearing might just mean eyes very dry (sounds wrong I know by consultant told me). I've used hypromellose drops and Hylotear drops. The latter are 'thicker' and I prefer those. Speak to your eye clinic. My gp now prescribes mine for me.
i agree with rosyG and eyesright. I have experienced anything from just watery eyes to a downright downpour after injections. It was put down to dry eye and was prescribed viscotears on repeat prescription by my GP. It may well be dry eye in your case, which will blurr your vision and feel gritty. Tell your medical team at the eye clinic about your experience.
I am sorry to read of your discomfort after your last injection. Did you feed this back to the eye clinic? When you are referring to the feedback from your Dr, are you referring to your GP or ophthalmologist?
If you have not already fed back to your eye clinic, it is important that you do so in advance of your next injection. This will allow them to hopefully identify the cause in advance of the next injection in order to try and prevent a reoccurrence.
