Hi Angelah, I was told my eye pain is due to dry eye (when the eye waters that also means its very dry). I also have had eye strain from reading too much at one sitting. My clinic gave me hypromellose eye drops which help and now get them on repeat prescription.
You should get checked out as pain can also indicate infection.
Sorry to hear you are in pain and naturally worried. It sounds good advice from
eyesright and we hope you manage to resolve your problem soonest.

Hello I get pain in both eyes. In the left where i am currently having treatment for wet amd & also in the right that I had 7 Lucentis injections in over a year ago.
When i mentioned this to one of the Doctors he said that this was normal to get small amounts of pain after eye strain. Anything bad should be reported straight away he said. So I am trying to stop worrying but as i can worry for England about my eyes i really dont hold out much hope.
Hope your problem does get easier.
Regards
Cormorin
Thanks guys. Just a little eye strain today. I have optrex for drops for my eyes but will ask Doctor about hypromellose next time I'm in. x
Dear Angela,
it is important that you get your eyes checked out as soon as possible to establish the cause of the pain. No, pain is not usually associated with MD.
Pleas give us a ring on the Macular Society helpline if you would like to discuss this further. Our helpline number is: 0300 3030 111. We are open 9am - 5pm Monday to Friday.
Kind regards.
