I have lupus, and unless you can see I'm in pain I look fairly normal so people don't believe I'm suffering. If only they knew!

I know right? People can’t wrap their heads around the fact you can be very sick & look perfectly fine! My family can’t even believe it BUT they see me suffering more days than not. Who cares just gonna #rocklupus! 🙃

Yes. Same problem with multiple sclerosis. I have had this disease for 30 years. And I look normal to most people. Know they don’t understand that I am suffering. It ic good you do not look as bad as you are suffering - thar is for your own sanity. I have to look in the mirror just to check and make sure. It is confusing to me. I would not want to look as bad as I feel.

Now for other people I wish I could educate them about my suffering for compassion, help, encouragement and kindness (understanding). You must ask yourself why do you want them to know why you are suffering. Some will never understand unless they have similar experience. Do I want them to suffer as I do. No! And when some try to empathize or care, hold them dear and be happy that they try and honestly care about you.
