Hi
I've been on Tarceva for 10 months, unfortunately it hasn't worked as well for me. My response to standard chemo did not last for 12 months so I started the Tarceva to stop further growth. It has slowed down the progress but not stopped it. However if it buys me time - then that is good.
I posted an advice leaflet last year regarding the management of skin toxicity, which has been a matter of trial & error. If you have any issues with skin problems it may be helpful.
Its very encouraging to hear of someone having such success with this drug, long may it continue!
Very best wishes Di
Hi Lenora, I too suffer with my skin on Iressa. I use E 45 cream, that helps with the direness and flakey. My fingers split each side of my nails on some it is very painfull for a time but I keep putting the cream on it seems to help a little as at the moment I am good! I also have spots on my torso. I think this is not too bad to suffer with as the tablets are working! Good luck with you skin condition. Georgie xx
Hi I have been on trace a for almost a year now. Although it hasn't shrunk the tumours it seems to be preventing the spread. I consider myself lucky in as much that I don't have really bad skin problems. I have hair loss and my nails are very soft but that is a small price to pay.
Good luck everyone x x
I have had positive results with Tarceva. No nasty side effects jus problems with my hair and increased neurpathy with my hands and feet. I have been on Tarceva for about 2 years. The cancer seems to be contained.
