It's a very good post that teaches people that don't smoke to just how important it is to not automatically assume the cancer is caused by smoking. Get an education people stop every one of you who ask did you smoke stop the stigma no one with lung cancer deserves people saying you did it to your self. Anyone with cancer deserve empathy. So please wake up and help to get this stigma gone. The link to the article is below.love susie jo

I agree with you completely. Whenever someone asked if I smoked, my answer was yes, but I quit over 13 years before diagnosis. Besides, my Primary Care thinks my cancer may have come from exposure to radon, and my oncologist told me that she thought the emphysema was a given even if I never smoked, because I grew up around second hand smoke.

Hi if you read my post at the bottom in blue is a link to Facebook. It will have a picture of three drawings of men I suppose. One on either end is smoking the one in middle isn't. It says below that stigma kills. You need to push on that and it will take you to the original story. Lung cancer.net sorry I wasn't sure how to do it. My daughter put the link. Sorry please try again I just followed the link it took too me to the story. Love susie

Hi, SusieJo!

You make a very important point about stigma. Could you ask your daughter to do a copy and paste of the article? I couldn’t access it either.

Hi when Tami gets here I'll have her do that. On my home page the one that shows all about me. That link took me there. It shows three men. On ends they are smoking in middle that one is not smoking. Under that it says stigma kills cancer.net if you push on that it should take you to cancer.net when it comes up the story should be right there.instead of the link on go to my home page you know where it tells all about me youshould it's there with my post. Press on stigma kills cancer.net it should bring the story right up. Love Susie

Thank you. My HealthUnlocked Page doesn’t link to my Facebook page and it won’t take my password so we’ll have to wait for your daughter.
