Retired any way
Lizzy-9, I understand how you feel. One of the most important things to remember while fighting this horrible disease is to stay positive. Be thankful for every day and live life to the fullest extent your body allows. It's normal to get depressed from time to time but don't let depression rob you of life. May God bless you.
I retired about 1 1/2 years ago at 55, and have never looked back. I embrace each day, and look forward to doing what I want when I went each day. This is your opportunity to do whatever you want- volunteer, take classes, etc. the sky is the limit!! I hope that you embrace and appreciate each and every day!!
lizzy-9,
I hear you. I also retired when I was diagnosed, and this is not how I envisioned retirement to be. Travel! - yes, to doctors' offices and clinics. Oh well, at least things are moe enjoyable and less stressful than if I had continued working.
Anita
Me, too. Disability at 58. Later when I grew stronger I began volunteering.
What type of plans had you made for retirement? You can still make them happen. Maybe not exactly the way you planned but don't give them up.
