Hi I am new to this site and am excited about it. I was diagnosed in Dec 2015 with stage 3b adenocar. lung cancer. I also have Crohn's Disease and newly diagnosed with COPD, pneumonitis, Emphysema, and fluid around the lungs. Went from being very active to almost not moving. Very difficult to adjust too. Anyone have any suggestions?

Still Breathing!
Love your picture!! Thanks for giving us that to smile at, and Welcome!
If you are looking for some additional information, you might want to search under "fatigue" on these sites: National Cancer Institute, American Cancer Society, and/or American Thoracic Society. Let me know what you think.
Going from being active to needing to let your body rest, is really a challenge. I am sorry you have to deal with that. Try to remember to be patient with you body, it needs to use its energy to fight (which I am sure you know far better than I do).
Your picture exudes joy - you must embrace life with both arms! I hope someone gives you a reason to laugh today, to smile, to feel loved.
Hi Nancy47. I saw your post and just had to comment. I also have adenocarcinoma and Crohn's disease. Weird, huh? I was diagnosed with stage 4 NSCLC in 2013 and went through chemo for almost three years, with a few short breaks. I went into remission last year. It lasted for five months. Latest scan showed lymph node involvement between my lungs and in my groin. Immunotherapy is unlikely for me due to the Crohns. I'll be going back on chemo soon. I dread it, but know it's my only chance for more time with my family. I too went from very active to not able to do much. I'm sorry you have been through so much. I'll add you to my prayer list.
Thank you Virgie49! No Immunotherapy for me either. But I am determined to beat this. Hopefully I will have a few more years to enjoy my family. My tumors were shrinking and I hope still are. Will know in a couple of months when I have a new pet scan, take care and thanks for response.
Mesa1219 thanks for encouraging words and I am interested in the book that you mentioned. I will check to see if the book store has one or maybe the library.
@Nancy47 Hi i'm Jo you really have alot going on.I don't think i've even have half of what you've got going on.My energy went out the door i've mastectomy, lung cancer more than that. All I can say is start out slow and than work your self up just don'thurt yourself. Just do what your body lets you do. Hopefully it will get better. If you want to talk i'm here. Jo Taylor
@JoTaylor thanks so much for your thoughts and wishes. I am trying every day to keep going and to get better. What an uphill battle it is. Just doing short walks are extremely tiring, I wish it was different but I have to just take it one day at a time. Nancy
Nancy47 - As hard as it is to adjust to a new normal, it is only another step along your road to recovery. Life changes forever once you do battle with cancer. We all fight the same beast, but each fight is uniquely our own to fight and recover from.
Not being as active as you once were, for now, is just the start of your tomorrows. Give everything time. Take each new day as another day to push yourself a foot further than the day before.
Your picture shows a woman with a zest for life! That is how you come across just by the picture, so I can only assume in real life, you are full of life and live each day as a new adventure. You will have to adjust to learning how to get back to that life.
We are ALL pulling for you, and will be waiting to hear updates.
