So glad to have found this group! I would like to share my journey with others that are going through the same journey. Family and friends are a great support group but if you have not gone though the surgery/recovery process you really do not know what it is like. I never knew you could get lung cancer if you had never smoked . . . now I know.

Welcome to a group that is made up of very compassionate people. I am so sorry you had to join though. I also was blindsided with this dx. I never smoked and thought I couldn't get lung cancer. Never assume!! I am ALK+ and currently taking a TKI and immunotherapy combo. It has been life saving. Almost all mets are now NED except one stubborn one in my liver. What treatment have you done?

I also never smoked and was diagnosed with stage 1B lung cancer; I was very lucky that it was found doing pre-op for another surgery. I had a my upper right lobe removed and followed up with 4 rounds of chemo. Was cancer free for 2 1/2 years, but now have some kind of skin cancer- which I am having removed. Try to keep a positive attitude, because it is all we can really control.

Welcome to this wonderful community! I try to stay in the shadows because the people who have walked this path are the experts, I bow to their wisdom. Please know, though, that the Free to Breathe Support Line is a place to turn to as well for information and resources (800.835.4325). Always honored to hear from you. Warm wishes, Peggy
