Has anyone tried using infrared light or infrared sauna to reduce pain and inflammation?
I've seen quite a bit online about how infrared light can help reduce swelling and ease pain. But I'm afraid to try it incase it makes things worse.

I have not used infrared light/or sauna for pain relief, but I do have a friend with Lyme who had TERRIBLE body pain and she used an infrared blanket or something like that for pain relief.
Hi NCWVLyme, did your friend have much relief using the blanket?
I've never heard of an infrared blanket before. I thought you had to sit inside a sauna cabin that used infrared light. I didn't know there was such a thing as a blanket.
There is quite a bit of positive info on using infrared for lyme. It seems to be a possible alternative method for relieveing symptoms. Take a look at this post... homesaunaheaven.com/lyme-di...
If it helped with pain and swelling it would be a great relief.

Yes, I believe it was a blanket. Search "infrared sauna blanket" on Amazon. At one time I purchased a portable sauna for about $200. It was basically a tent with the heating element that you sit in. It worked but it broke within a year. Another Lyme friend has one and hers is still working.
