Hi All

I have now got 2 oxygen concentrators in my house one in my lounge & one in my bedroom ,& my prescription is it must be up on 4 litres whilst im moving around but when Im at rest I have to turn it down to 3

If I am resting for a long period of time then my specialist has said I should do bitesize amounts of time without it but to make sure that I should do it bit by bit by checking to see what my SATS are at 3 -if in a safe level within my range (88-92) or over I should turn it down to 2 & spend some time with it on 2 litres then check it again & if th SATS were at a safe level then to come off it for 20 mins or so & it gets to about 86 then I should go back on it & turn it back up to 4 litres until it goes back up tothe safe levels & then turn it back to 3

hi it’s always acceptable to turn down oxygen at rest if you are monitoring sats but you don’t want to drop below 90 ideally. Depending on your medical issues you may have higher oxygen targets too

yes thats very true 88-92 are the safe -if it gets to 95 or 96 then I can afford to turn it down to 2 - but monitor is as well

Hi everything seems daunting at first but it will all become normal to you. I'm on 4ltrs on resting and between 5 and 6 on movement 24/7. This all sounds a lot but believe me it is far from. I was diagnosed with ILD 11yrs ago, there isn't much I can do for myself now but I stay positive and I sit and craft every opportunity I get. Keep your brain and hands active it takes your mind off of other things.
