The latest issue of Leukaemia Matters will soon be landing on doorsteps and arriving in inboxes. Friday 8th March is International Women’s Day. To coincide with this the magazine takes a look at gender-specific symptoms and issues affecting women.

Why is LeukaemiaCare moving away from covering/supporting lymphoma patients? Lymphomas are also classified as blood cancers!

Hello @peterb2016 thanks for posting your question and your continued support helping all living with different blood cancers here in this community.

It is a difficult question to answer precisely. Leukaemia Care are committed to support all patients and family friends affected by a blood cancer diagnosis, and we maintain information and nurse support to ensure that is the case. I think when it comes down to allocation of resource and precise expertise it is good that blood cancer charities can specialise on specif blood cancers while still supporting the broader community.

This prevents reinvention of the wheel and duplication to ensure broader quality support across all types as long as charities collaborate and signpost to each others resources to ensure patients get the most appropriate support.. For example, the magazine 'Leukaemia Matters' has an equivalent published with a Lymphoma focus by Lymphoma Action 'Lymphoma Matters' lymphoma-action.org.uk/supp...

When specif Lymphoma information is required we will signpost accordingly.

Peter please, we would welcome more posts about lymphoma from you and your experience to populate the topic and help reach those who may be searching for information and support. After all CLL is also classified as a NHL subgroup by WHO, we will always support those with Lymphoma, but will have expertise with only a few.
