How Long Do the Side Effects of LDN Last?

I’ve been taking LDN for chronic nerve pain for 7 weeks now and am still having side effects. I started at .5 mg worked my way slowly up to 1.5 mg and am now back down to .5mg. I started taking it at night and stuck with it at night for 6 weeks. I had horrible insomnia, nightmares and vivid dreams in between being awake and my ears ring constantly. I recently dropped back down to .5 mg taken first thing in the morning. I don’t have insomnia anymore but am still having vivid dreams that wake me up. My ears are still ringing. I’m super tired during the day now, much worse than when I had insomnia. The sad thing is the LDN is helping with the nerve pain. It helps a little bit at .5 mg and it is virtually gone at 1.5 mg. . The side effects make it so hard to take but I’m trying to stick with it. Does anyone have any ideas that may help me? My Pain Doctor is so busy, the soonest I can see him is at the end of January. My GP is not very familiar with LDN and hasn’t been helpful.

Hello, sorry to hear about your difficulties. It’s really frustrating when side effects are so disruptive. Where do you obtain your LDN? I’ve heard that certain excipients can cause problems? Maybe if you tried a different formulation you might find some relief?

I couldn’t tolerate drops that I swallowed from clinic158.com, gave me a dreadfully upset stomach , but sublingual drops are ok. You could self refer to talk to their prescriber.

Thank you, Bertwills. You may be on to something. I’m getting the RX from a local compounding pharmacy and it is different from the pharmacy I started with. Will check it out.
