Hoshimotos and premature ovarian failure, LDN causing joint and muscle pain

Hello! I’ve been taking 1.5 of LDN for a little over a week. It has caused disruptions in my sleep and now I’m having joint pain and stiffness as well as muscle pain. Is this a typical reaction and will it go away? My mental clarity and feelings of well being is better but that is all.

Hormone-mess,

A week is a still early days with LDN. We like to say this is a journey, not a race. Benefits can start out slow, sometimes taking up to 6 months for optimum relief.

Sleep disruptions are the most common side effect, which should subside in 2 -3 weeks. (I was the opposite, had severe insomnia for 11 years before starting LDN, now I get 3 hours of sleep at a time, which is wonderful) Here is a link to a search on the Trust's website regarding insomnia - with some helpful hints if it persists: ldnresearchtrust.org/search...

Joint pain & stiffness - were these issues before starting LDN? Some of us experience an exacerbation of symptoms before seeing relief. Again using my own experience, osteoarthritis in my hands did get worse the first month, by month 4 most of the pain was gone and only one "bump" stayed. The reason I'm on LDN is for Fibromyalgia, and that also got worse before getting better.

Hope this helps!

I'm taking 4.5 mg of LDN one each day at 9pm. I have had no side effects. Hope you feel better soon. Take care and be good!
