For those too lazy to make their own crackers 😳

These are amazing. Don't eat them plain, you just end up with a mouthful of what seems like birdseed, but with cream cheese on top they are delicious; to my tastes probably nicer than a water biscuit, that I used to love.

About 0.16g of carbs each, but a bit pricy.

You have me tweeting my way to M&S as we speak. So excited. Whilst a lettuce leaf is the lay cheese and something that resembles a biscuit is brilliant. Thank you for sharing Subtle_badger x

So displaying commercial packaging should be banned? 🤔

I am sharing low carb foods. That is what this forum is for.

Thanks SubtleBadger. I'm defiantly too lazy to make my own crackers! But I do like my cheese on something crispy and these look lovely! 🧀

You want me to check it out? I was just told if I made a claim, I had to provide a link, so please provide a link to the policy you think I am violating.

I don't think Subtle_badger is advertising the product per se. It's not her product. She's not going to benefit from it. We can't buy it from her. She's sharing a low carb food option which is (surprisingly) available in a major supermarket. This community thrives on sharing info that will help its members. This is one good example.

That can''t be what he was referring to, because mentioning a product you do not sell or benefit in anyway from the sales of is not advertising. I can find nothing to suggest you can' t share info about products.

Thanks, they look great! I don’t even bother with crackers any more... I just made a mix of nuts / seeds and eat a spoonful with cheese... 😆

That's a great idea too. I sometimes use a thin slice of cheese in the place of bread or a cracker. So either cheese on top of sturdier cheese or something else (I like homemade salmon pate) spread on sturdy cheese.

Oh yes...lovely pate... I just ate it on a salad leaf with a knife and fork 😂

I love pate too!🤤 endives are always good for eating out of/ off of - nature's edible spoon....

Hi, have you found the holy grail of low carb crackers? Always struggled to find anything less than about 4g of carb per cracker. Will look out for these next time I am in m&s (oops advertising?) Fail to see an issue mentioning the source of an item - otherwise how do we know where to get it? X

Subtle_badger profile image
Subtle_badger in reply to Nettekin

They aren't perfect, for a start they cost £1.90 for 130g, and you can't just munch on them (you may as well just spoon seeds into your mouth.

But still, maybe a little closer than before 🤔

I wonder how they get the seeds to stick together?

Professor-Yaffle profile image
Professor-Yaffle in reply to Arthrath

Good question Arthrath..... Maybe it's static cling. You can eat as much static as you like on a low carb diet 😂

Subtle_badger profile image

I assumed that the ingredients would give a clue, but there is nothing there to suggest a binding agent. I guess partially crushing the seeds to release their oils? 🤔

Ah ha! Psyllium husks , when liquid is added (the fruit extracts?) it turns into a jelly like substance, a bit like wallpaper paste. Maybe when it’s baked it ends up as a cracker.

Subtle_badger profile image
Subtle_badger in reply to Arthrath

But there is no liquid in the ingredients, hence my suggesting that they are crushing the seeds.

Ah! Just googled it, and you don't have to list water if it's less than 5% of the product.

There are lots of recipes online google.com/search?q=seeded+...

This looks like it's a technique that would work with those ingredients. It is more than 5% water, but you'd need more if you include chia seeds.

Thanks for posting this. They also seem to be gluten free which is great. I’ve tried making my own seed crackers twice but I’ve never managed to get them crispy enough and they haven’t kept well. This product looks ideal.

I left an open packet in the cupboard for several days; they did not go stale.

I REALLY like these! And I do like them without any topping .... but I am a woodpecker so that makes sense. Very nice with goats butter! Thanks Subtle_badger.

Seeded cracker - stopped by M&S on my walk today.

Subtle_badger your very irresponsible posting has lead to a run on the super seed crackers and we now have a shortage in my local area. Bloody stockpilers! 😂 Seriously though, what will I now have below my cheese?😭

LCHF stockpiling?
Subtle_badger profile image
Subtle_badger in reply to Professor-Yaffle

Yep, it's my fault.

Until they come back, courgette or cucumber slices on the bias hold cheese or dips.

Your crunch needs to come from elsewhere. Broken bones crunch, I think 🤔

I have a few left in the last box which I can eat this Sunday - I usually replace dinner with a cheese and meat selection on Sundays and watch back to back Grand Designs - hoping M&S get their stock system sorted soon though 🤞
