Has anyone else had Rituximab/Rituxan treatment? Just wondered what results others had experienced & any side effects encountered?

I had Rituximab last year and it did nothing to my platelet count. We tried various doses and nothing worked. I did not get any side effects other than disappointment.

i had rituximab 2 months ago and my count has only gone from 1 to 11 but no side effects

Hello efd thank you for your reply. I hope that you do get an improved response from Rituximab. I know that my specialist told me that the platelet count can take 3 months or more to respond to Rituximab so it just proves how difficult it is to pin anything down with any certainty. ITP really is like nailing jelly to the wall !!!

I had 10 treatments of rituxan and it helped me bring my platelets from a 15,000 to 210,000 but now they are slowly going down again the last 2 appointments I had 162,000 and 150,000 tomorrow is by next appointment. Let's see If they keep going down. Hopefully my body doesn't depend on that treatment because it makes you feel with fatigue and drained out.
