Dova the company that makes it has a copay program, that can help with that.

I tried Dova.

My husband and I are retired educators (US)

Our combined income puts us over the financial aid limit, strange but true.

My copY for Doptelet and Promacta would be over $3000. Per month.

Any suggestions

I would try contacting Accredo they are the specialty pharmacy that I get it through. They also have plans that will help with copays on specialty drugs that have to be directly shipped to your house

All of them have two names

They do indeed, one generic name and one proprietary, dependant upon the drug company. I couldn’t originally however find either due to the spelling, it may well be spelt differently in the uk. But I did find it with the uk spelling

Interesting, I've never heard about this. Looks like it was approved in 2018 in the US. Keep us posted please! I think it's always exciting to try new drugs and something that's better to be excited about rather than worried.

So far it has been great. No side effects like prednisone.

I started taking the Doptelet in October within the first week my platelet count went from 23 up 150. Since then my count has went up and stabilized in the 200. So far I haven't really had any side effects which is good for me since I had horrible side effects to the prednisone. I see a ITP specialist at the Cleveland Clinic.

I take it once a day. My insurance did pay on it but my copay was still $1,000 a month. However Dova offers copay asistance and I qualified so I actually get it free.
