Anyone losing hair from ITP not the treatments?

Once I was off the Prednisone, I lost about half my hair. It is very unnerving, having hands full of hair come out when you shampoo. I had my hair cut very short so I wouldn't be traumatized. Some of my hair seems to very slowly be growing back. My Physican told me that the Prednisone couldn't possibly make my hair fall out, but I read that online, under "side effects " Goes to show how much the docs know. !!

I lose hair constantly. I have 3 choices as to why:

I take Warfarin, Synthroid, and I have SLE and ITP. They all cause hair loss. My last platelet count was 40,000 - down 22 points in 14 days.

My hair has also been thinning. I have found that taking supplements for Hair, Skin, and Nails helps (I also have to shave my legs more often : ). There are several brands available; I buy what's on sale , and so far they all have helped me hold on to my hair.

There's also Fall Fight shampoo (Garner Fructis line) that seems to work as well. (And I don't work for the companies that produce these products and am not affiliated with them in any way). I'm sure everyone's different and that what has worked for me won't work for anyone, and my hair is still thinner than it used to be, but maybe either of both of these products will give your hair a bounce. Amazing how important it is.

Yes I have been diagnosed with alopecia due to having ITP because of my immune system I have been prescribed Betnovate a steroid scalp solution for it and use caffeine shampoos/conditioners they have worked for me a few times and I am hoping that they work for me now as I have bald areas again
