Do you have hypothyroidism? I have that and i think hypothyroidism and low platelet count are related, but you need to go a endocrinology specialist to know how much of levothyroxine you have to take.

I have researched so much information on border line thyroid information. On my recent annual doctor visit - my blood test for thyroid was borderline. I have been eating kale almost daily - platelets are low - but stable. My doctor suggested levothyroxine - low dose. After reading the side effects - I do not want to take it. I am planning on diet {I exercise daly} to reverse the thyroid. I do not take anything for the low platelets. What I do is - juice one pineapple daily. I have been doing this for 12 years. I am not a person to take medication. Do you take this medication?

Yes, i take this medication since 2004 (before i was diagnosed with ITP). I have hashimoto hypothyroidism. In my case, levothyroxine help me to control the anemia and after i started the medication, most of my symptoms disappeared.

Now, with ITP disease I have tried a lot of treatments, but now I just works for me eltrombopag. But since 2 months I'm trying to do a healthy life with paleo diet in order to stop take eltrombopag. At this time I can say, is working for me.

I suggest you continue with your medical controls. Take the medication or not is your choice.
