Anyone know about South African bush teas, like redbush/rooibosch increasing autoimmune diseases?

Was told on diagnosis of ITP to avoid them, but have never heard that again and would like to drink less caffeine.

Have been told by my Doc to reduce caffeine intake as I was having palpitations (think it's because as my Mum puts it, 'you are at that age dear'), and said I would switch to Redbush tea. The doc made no comment...
