Today marks the Diamond Jubillee of Her Majesty The Queen. It was sixty years ago today that Princess Elizabeth Alexandra Mary made her accession to the throne following the death of her father King George VI. Ironically the Princess Elizabeth was one of the last people to know that her father had passed away, as she was on an official Royal Tour of the Commonwealth staying at a remote site in Kenya when the sad news broke. We could not let this day pass without passing our congratulations and fondest wishes to Her Majesty for a remarkable sixty years of service. Only Queen Victoria has reigned longer as Monarch with a span of 63 years and 216 days. The picture attached was taken in 1952, just a few months after the accession .
