Hi All

My husband is still on 30% oxygen and still on the ventilator. Weaning is going very slow and his blood pressure keeps going up and down. I am worried now that he is still on ventilator 30%

Hello there..

How is he today? Is he awake?

I used to really fixate on oxygen requirement but 30% is quite low and what i found as dad started weaning (still weaning) is they look at many other things and not just oxygen requirement.

You say they are slowly weaning him, which is great. Where is he on his weaning?

Have the doctors said they are worried about 30%?

When my dad was at 40% the doctor said he was less worried about it as it will go up and down depending on what they do on vent setting changes.

Stay positive and keep the faith🙏🏽💜

Hi..I think we are going through something similar. My husband contracted Covid 19 after open heart surgery. He had a trachestomy almost 3 weeks ago and is on 30%oxygen .He has managed up to 11 hours on the Nippy ventilator but has had setbacks. He needs dialysis and his blood pressure needs support .He has been in ICU since 11th April and has been in hospital since February 13th.He is 59 and a non drinker and non smoker. He had a heart condition but doctors cleared him to have knee surgery in early Feb after which all this happened
